Role Description

Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.


Key duties and responsibilities


.Net Developers will be responsible for, but not limited, to:

  • Participating in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to develop and enhance a C# based, n-tier, enterprise software and associated documentation in accordance with AEC Standards.

  • Developing automated application build and deployment scripts using the .NET environment (.NET Core), and additional Microsoft technology stack.

  • Liaising with technical and business area staff to facilitate the rapid resolution of issues and/or faults within fielded production.

  • Providing analysis on complex issues and contributing to the management, preparation, and coordination of policy formulation and/or project management.

  • Providing accurate specialist advice, guidance, and reporting on team functional responsibilities.

  • Sharing code and development learnings back to the Developer Community of Practice to inform continuous improvement.

  • Contributing to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required and directed by the relevant Director/Team Leader or delegate.


Criteria

The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.


Essential criteria


  1. Demonstrated experience with Agile software development methodologies and documentation.    

  • Experience with Visual Studio.    

  • Backend development experience using web API and SQL technologies.    

  • Demonstrated experience in SDLC.    

  • Strong experience in developing automated application build and deployment scripts using the .NET environment (.NET Core), and additional  Microsoft technology stack.    

  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-based applications development.    Ability to produce well designed, documented, and testable code.    

  • Peer review of developed products and scripts.    

  • Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results on time and on budget.    

  • Proficiency in using various IT applications and project management tools, including the MS Suite, Azure DevOps, Blazor, and Miro or similar.

  • Choose an item or check the box that applies to the following options: Previous AEC Employee or Contractor, Current AEC Contractor, Code of Conduct, Submission History, Authority to Represent, Submission Compliancy. 

  • Consultant comments may be added (but must not exceed 500 words).   

  • Page 2 - A one-page pitch addressing the selection criteria. This should not exceed one page.  

  • Pages 3 - 5 - A resume of no more than three pages.  


We will strictly adhere to the requirements outlined above – submissions that do not meet the listed criteria will be deemed not compliant.


Desirable criteria


1.Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Information Technology or Computer Science (or other relevant discipline).   

  • Knowledge of, or ability to, quickly gain knowledge of Australian electoral law and practice.    

  • Experience in Cloud-based technologies.   

  • Experience in Microsoft Azure Dev Ops.   Experience in technical analysis and design.   

  • Experience implementing integration requirements to perform end to end solution designs.
